The size of the bass drums and tom toms and floor toms can differ widely
Compare a typical entry level drum set with soundwise a better quality drum set
The larger sizes of a rock set is going to mean more resonance and power
Then typical entry level is ok for practising at home but in a band situation will fall short when it comes to playing at different volumes in a band sitauation when you need more oomph
