Hi Mike

Many thanks for your follow up
I have had no negative feedback regarding the quality of the Courante CFL100 flute we bought in JULY 2007 and Robyn has played it in an ensemble and is very happy with it.

Dear Mike, You will remember that I purchased a Courante 400 flute from you recently. I have greatly enjoyed it and today I started lessons. My new teacher could not believe that at the price I payed there was so much value viz, open holes, C and B- feet and when she played it she really siad that it had a beautiful sound. She admitted that she has never heard of the name before. Maybe you need  some wider advertising? Once again thank you for a great investment.

Hi Mike!

I would like to praise you for your quick response and help with purchasing this beautiful flute - Courante CFL400. I was a bit skeptical at first as I did not know this flute yet the specs and your confidence with this flute convinced me to take the chance. The dynamics and colour that I could produce after the first few blows blew my skepticism out the door. The B-foot provided as an extra makes a beautiful contribution to an improved sound on my previous flute and I can't wait to play around with the gizmo key. I looked for an open hole flute and thought that I might have to pay an arm and a leg for that, but I've found this flute from you for much less a price with the same opportunities to explore the flute to an advanced level. Thanks for that opportunity!!!

Hope to cross paths with you soon again

CFL400Review
REVIEW  :
For clarity I will refer to the flute notes by name and octave of the
flute, i.e. starting from B0 up to F#4, giving almost 4 octaves of range.

I played a Bernard Steiner student flute since 1992 and after a few years
I wanted to upgrade to an open hole flute. Due to the prices involved
this has always been out of my league financially and therefore I was of
the opinion that I would always be stuck with my low-budget flute. Then
during my latest research on flute prices and looking for online internet
flute resellers that offered a trial period I discovered that flutes
nowadays actually also are available with a b-foot joint allowing the B
(B0) below middle C to be played. So then I wanted the best of both
worlds, i.e. an open hole flute (French Model) with a b-foot joint, which
of course did not make the problem of pricing any easier, in fact it only
worsened my problem.

Then I stumbled onto your web site, and my first thought was, this cannot
be, a web site with decent flute prices and a South African site on top of
that! How lucky can one be? So I browsed through your site and found
close to what I was looking for, but not quite, since you only had open
hole flute with the c-foot joint, so I contacted you for advice. The rest
is history. The asking price for this flute is well worth every penny and
in my opinion the flute is actually worth more than the price I paid. For
any person considering purchasing this flute I would definitely recommend
it, without thinking twice.

Since I always had a bit of a struggle in playing the low C (C1) on my old
flute, the first thing I tried to play on the Courante flute was the low B
(B0) and low C (C0). I was astounded at how easy these notes were to
play, since the b-foot joint adds much more stability to the lower octave
of the flute (B0 - C2).

Then I proceeded and played all the notes from C#1 up to C4 and was
surprised again and elated at the ease of producing the notes and the rich
warm tone the flute has. I was impressed. This flute indeed gives very
little resistance to sound production, freeing a person to concentrate on
your musical creativity.

I have always struggled a lot to produce the high D (D4) on my old flute,
just barely getting the sound out. It is much easier and better to
produce this note on the Courante. I have never been able to reach
anything higher than the D4 and I will start working on those on my new
Courante flute.

The key mechanism is fantastic and is very light and playable. Once you
adjust to the open holes your hands and wrists are much more relaxed
allowing better playing and posture.
