Especially important on digital pianos is getting the touch setting correct, as this affects the volume you will produce substantially
There are normally three touch settings. WEAK NORMAL AND STRONG
On Casio digital pianos as an example, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS START OFF ON THE WEAK TOUCH! unless youve been playing an acoustic piano ( one with a strong resistant action remembering that some are lighter than others ) and developed a a very strong touch., but at least try it
Various digital pianos show you how to do this differently but on the CASIO CDP100
Press THE FUNCTION BUTTON and the BLACK KEY LOWEST ON DIGITAL PIANO AT SAME TIME to get the weakest touch ( loudest sound)
Other touches are shown in the diagram below (and in the manual)
"NORMAL" and "STRONG" - but for all but very experienced players these will make the sound considerably softer.)
