Flute parts - repairs

Flute parts( for any brand )  that need replacing over the years are

FLUTE PADS

Local Repair workshops carry a wide range of pads. Pad sizes may vary slightly but always are standard sizes that both flute assembly  factories buy from from wholesalers like votaw
or you can buy from shops like JC Penny

FLUTE METAL WORK -  ( FLUTE RODS, SHAFTS , KEY CUPS, WALLS,  SPRINGS,POSTS )

If you care for your flute, ( see our Guidelines here ) you wont drop it or leave it in the way of someone else to knock

If however metal work becomes damaged , a flute repairer has lathes and many metal work tools and will be able to fix the metalwork on your flute , apart springs which are standard sizes an can be replaced , and rods which are selected from a range of standard sizes, like pads.

Can I just order a part and fix it myself.?

No - the factories (of any brands ) leave this to the people qualified to do the work as

1) Manufacturers simply assemble parts.
2) to ship parts for  stuident to intermediate flutes across the world when repairers can fix them cheaper is not viable financially for the manufacturer

Repairing them is another skill altogether and unless the flutes is a professional flute, ( which would be an exception  )

Flute repairers who they can do anything from replate the silver, to bend back into shape any part. or cut a thread at the end of new shaft rod is a much simpler solution and has been since flutes were made.
