Saxophones are made of VERY thin brass. Where you hold them when assembling is critical in fact. Pads most are leather but still develop moisture. Clean them once a month with LARGE rizal cigarrette papers closing the pad on the paper and drawing it out removing moisture. this happens in damp weather or with just a lot of blowing
You can also use a TINY bit of talcum powder at times
