The Courante dual tone flute utilises 2 foot joints a C foot joint and a B foot joint, which can easily be interchanged.

The C foot joint results in the bright transparent kind of sound of all C foot joints flute, very pleasing alive and vibrant on the ear.

When one interchanges this with the B Footjoint (used by most orchestral players) the resultant sound is darker and more solid especially in lower notes, a totally different kind of sound to the C footjoint. 

This stands to reason because the alto and bass flute sounds are also partly a product of their increased overall length.

iI is very refreshing for players to change the nature of their sound regularly. Sound is everything to a flute player and this innovation which we approached the factory to do has wonderful pleasing results

The difference is noticable the better ones sound is, but wont be apparent to a complete beginner as tone of either bright or dark, still needs several months of long notes practise and control to achieve

Courante flutes - Our own imported brand  have served advanced students well for over a decade capable of lasting through to grade  8 and playing advanced exams on. Amongst many improvements from  budget flutes are

• A semi-handcut headjoint producing a fluid transparent sound , strong yet rounded without sharp edges
• Thicker sold silver plating and especially the use of PISONI pads which brands like yamaha ,Pearl and more advanced flutes use
• Pads are double skinned, so last longer than budget flute single skin pads .
• The extra B key on footjoint stabilises the higher register a bit more and darens the sound giving it a deeper pleasing fullness

They are highly responsive to delicate touches and a wide range of dynamics with head joints that respond to small adjustments over the ranges and speak very easily. They were manufactured to compete with flutes in double the price range and do so exceedingly well .
